We are a family (2 x adults, 3x kids, 3x dogs and 1x pony) from Cheshire who have fallen in love with horses and more specifically our ‘Dottie’, we proudly and loving acquired our first ever Pony in Jan 2023 and we were at a loss as to the process for finding a horse – we could not believe how difficult it was. So many ‘alleged’ bad eggs, where do we look, who can we trust, how much should we pay, what breed do we want, what age do we want …… we had no clue ! Thankfully we made contact with the most wonderful lady from near Hull who was a godsend ….. we firmly believe out meeting was fated and it has changed our lives (for the much better!).
Once this first step was conquered …… We then found ourselves in a minefield of information overload trying to locate a local yard/stable, farrier, groomer, vet, instructor, dentist and pony club ….. the list just seemed to go on forever – we just could not believe that this vital information was not all available in one place, available easily and that there seemingly was no community anywhere to offer help / advice / hints / tips ……
Thus ….. once we had finally sourced all of the above, we didn’t want other’s to struggle like we had and HorseWorld.uk was born …… really from our own frustrations with the lack of help and support available to us in one place online, we wanted to create a real community that helped everyone and also offered all of the services and support that was needed to own your own horse / pony.
We are sure that mistakes will be made with the design of the site, we may even upset people with information added (all of which has been done in good faith) but we are open to help, advice and feedback …… this is going to be everyone’s HorseWorld and we very much want everyone to feel part of it
We have been made so so welcome on our amazing yard in Cheshire, which has a real community and family feel to it …. we really want our website to replicate this.
We have added a message board in the hope that everyone can help each other, we are certainly not horse experts but we absolutely know how hard it is to find good, solid help and advice and want everyone to be involved.
If anyone would like to help with the message boards or even have their own page on the site, please feel free to contact us.
We do have to try and charge a fee for some bits, in order to make the site financially viable but we hope that be keeping costs as low as possible – everyone can see value for money in what they are listing.
Lots of love,
The O’Briens
